Blog Me.

Chavez Center Camp Supervisors, Angel and Liza There has been talk for some time now about creating a web presence for NMRPA and I want to thank the Board of Directors for moving forward on the web site. As we work through the process, I think it will continue to grow as a useful tool for the membership of NMRPA.

I look forward to your communication about what great things are going on in your neck of the woods. “Let the world hear about your new programs, new parks and new playground.”

As we grow the blog, we will be creating categories such as events, job opportunities, workshop and educational opportunities, branch talk and helpful vendors. As your webmaster, I will be monitoring your comments and adding information to the web site. The biggest advantage to a blog is that it becomes a live journal of what is happening in NM. The website will tell the NMRPA story in a more static format which will not change too much except in the NMRPA Message Board. So, here’s your chance to blog. At the top of the page you’ll see a “cartoon balloon” with the word, “comments”, next to it. Click on “comments”. Go ahead, blog me.

    Heidi,

If you go to the website or click to http://www.nmrpa.org/jobs.htm at the bottom, you’ll find the link to webmaster or email to webmaster@nmrpa.org and send me a pdf or word file on the job I’ll upload it for you. Others have chosen to provide a link to their city personnel office which I’ll post on web. I hope all is well in Hobbsland.

Just a question from a person on the information dirt highway, how do we get our job postings to you? And as well our web site for our Department? I think you have done a great job and finally we are in the 21st century as an Association.

Greetings from Los Alamos. Web page looks great and I am working on some marketing materials to get the word out. If anybody has any ideas let me know, but I’m going to try and follow the colors of the web page.

Hello! AWESOME! I am soooooooooooo happy that we have a great tool for NMRPA. I am sure that it will increase our membership, vendors will be able to find us, and it will be a great tool for position recruitment. Thank you for all that you have done for our association!

We will be sending our link and information to you so that the City of Las Cruces will be up and running. :)

    Thanks again!

It is good to see NMRPA finally getting off the ground with a website that is more functional. It is up to us to get things going with new ideas, current programs and events, and creative thoughts! With links to our agencies and possible agencies, it should do nothing except help us to do our jobs better! I will take some time to see what we can offer the rest of the Association in the near future.
In the meantime, if anyone has some good topics for training that you believe would be good for any future training session, it would be good to hear from you.

RIBBON CUTTING FOR SYCAMORE PARK COMMUNITY CENTER!!

The City of Farmington Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs would like to invite you to the gala opening of the much awaited Sycamore Park Community Center on Wednesday, November 19 at 3:00 p.m.

The open field in front of the bluffs has become an amazing work of architecture ready to be a bustling, integral part of the surrounding community. Discussion and plans for a center started 15 years ago, and the dream is that it will be the first of several more community centers built and available to neighborhoods throughout our growing city of Farmington.

The idea behind the community center concept is to provide recreational, social, and educational opportunities to the Sycamore Park area neighborhoods, and offer resources within that immediate community. Residents from the surrounding neighborhoods were involved, and asked to provide input to the design of the building and need for the programming.

Tour the new building that is perfectly tailored for community meetings, outgrowth programs, and continuing education opportunities. The center will provide the perfect vehicle for a vast span of learning to take place. Computers will even be available, with internet access, to provide services for adults and teenagers, from health research to homework.

Join us for this special celebration, starting with dedications, followed by a traditional ribbon cutting, food, and activities for the whole family.

Sycamore Park is located at 1051 Sycamore St., South of Murray Dr., between Graham Rd. and Griffith Rd.

I am sooooooo glad that there is finally someting that shows up on the NMRPA search. THanks Tom for getting this underway. The Hobbs Parks and Recreation Department would also like to be added to the links. Our Department also has a myspace page which has been very successful in getting the word out on our programs as well as a recruiting tool for potential employees. I kow all communities have th same problem recruiting. THanks again…
